Mumbai: It's a meme war between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The two actors were recently seen sporting T-shirts that take a dig at each others' films, to promote their upcoming film, "War".

As soon as the promotions for their upcoming film "War" began, Tiger was spotted wearing a quirky black T-shirt with Hrithik's onscreen superhero avatar, "Krrish".

The T-shirt had Hrithik's face with a Krrish mask and it read: "Hiding your fear behind a mask?"

Not to be outdone, Hrithik was spotted wearing a white T-shirt with Tiger's character from "A Flying Jatt". Its caption read: "Flying away from this war already?"

In "War", which is directed by Siddharth Anand, the two action heroes are pitted against each other.

The film also stars Vaani Kapoor and is produced by Yash Raj Films. The high-octane film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on October 2.

New Delhi: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's upcoming action entertainer 'War' is high on the buzzword and fans are eager to know more about the film. Slated to release on October 2, 'War' also stars Vaani Kapoor and promises some exotic visuals and mind-blowing action sequences.

The film will also have a big-budget Holi song titled 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar', reports DNA.

Director Siddharth Anand spoke to DNA about the song. He says “Firstly, we had to get the track right — one that justifies them dancing on it together. Hrithik and Tiger have had great songs and hit numbers to their credit; since we’re bringing them together for the first time, we have all the more responsibility to deliver a track that becomes a blockbuster instantly,”

The filmmaker further added, “This is a Holi song. What got me excited was its lyrics, ‘Jai Jai Shivshankar, aaj mood hai bhayankar. When you see this song, you’ll get into a bhayankar mood to dance. You will just freak out and that is the killer part of it.”

The official Twitter handle of Yash Raj Films announced that the song will be out tomorrow- that is September 21!

Meanwhile, the film's first song titled 'Ghungroo' was unveiled and featured Hrithik and Vaani in beautiful locations. Sung by Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao, the song featured Hrithik and Vaani in their glamorous avatars.

The film went on floors a few days ago.'Baaghi 3' also stars actor Riteish Deshmukh in a pivotal role.

The first and second installments of Baaghi faired well at the box office. The first part starred Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead while Tiger's rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani featured as the female lead in the second  Tiger and Disha's chemistry set the screens on fire and was loved by the fans.

Baaghi 3 is scheduled to release sometime in 2020. With Shraddha joining the franchise again, fans are looking forward to a fun ride.

New Delhi: Actor Tiger Shroff is thrilled about joining forces with his idol Hrithik Roshan in "War". The actors are pitted against each other in the action extravaganza, and Tiger sees their characters as beloved superheroes Superman and Batman.

Tiger has made a mark as an action hero, thanks to films like "Baaghi" and "Heropanti". He says "War" is different for him even though it ios an action movie.

"There are very different styles of action, location and get-up. It's more on the lines of 'Mission Impossible'. It's like Ethan Hunt versus James Bond and Superman vs Batman... on this battlefield. We are fighting in air, on land. It is a visual spectacle. It is a great action entertainer," Tiger told IANS.

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, the high-octane film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on October 2.

"I am both nervous and excited. I am very excited because I got an opportunity to work with my hero. It is a huge opportunity for me. I am working with Yash Raj Films for the first time, and of course my director Siddharth Anand... he is fantastic. I am looking forward to working with him again in 'Rambo'," said the actor.

Talking about Hrithik, also known for his dance moves and action skills, Tiger said: "It was amazing -- such an easy experience. He is such a good dancer, so he is equally good in action. Action is all about timing. Whenever we fought each other, our (action) sequences were complementing so well."

Mumbai: Director Siddharth Anand says actor Hrithik Roshan has outdone himself and taken incredible risks to give the audience a visual spectacle in the upcoming film "War".

"When it comes to action, India has not produced a bigger action superstar than Hrithik. His commitment to pushing his body and his intent to push the envelope of action cinema in the country makes him the most loved action superstar.

"In 'WAR', Hrithik has outdone himself and taken incredible risks to give audiences a visual spectacle that they have never seen before," Anand said.

In the movie, Hrithik will be seen jumping off a bridge in Porto, Portugal taking him into a free fall for about 300 feet.

"We were shooting a high-octane chase sequence in Porto that required Hrithik to jump off a bridge and he instantly committed to the action design. He is an actor who always wants to give audiences something new to see on screen," Anand added.

The director praised Hrithik's hard work.

"It is always a pleasure to work with him because he pushes you to do better. This is a stunning action stunt that will leave audiences speechless," he said.

In "War", Hrithik and Tiger are pitted against each other. The two will be seen doing some death defining stunts in the film where the two stars will be having a showdown.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on October 2.

'War' is an action-entertainer that promises to give you moments of adrenaline rush. The film has been shot at various exotic locations, a glimpse of which was shown in the songs released. Be it Hrithik and Vaani dancing to 'Ghungroo' or Tiger and Hrithik shaking a leg in 'Jai Jai Shivshankar', the picturesque backdrops are one of the many reasons to be excited for the film.

Ratings: 3/5 Stars

If 'Dhoom' had an unannounced fourth instalment, then 'War' could be the answer. Director Siddharth Anand's adrenaline pumping actioner is the big October 2 release which is eyeing an extended weekend, raking in the moolah at ticket counters.

And why not, when you have Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff together packing some hard punches and flying high kicks. 'War' is a visual delight, hands down but to back that up, what's missing from the picturesque presentation of Morocco, Australia, Italy and Kerala back home, is a solid screenplay.

Abbas Tyrewala's heavy-duty dialogues with thumping background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara manage to reek attention but only at times.

There's plenty of high-octane action to keep you glued to the seats and in-between the story moves forward. Hrithik plays Kabir Luthra—an Indian soldier who is the best in his business and won't blink an eyelid while killing an enemy for the nation's pride. 

Cut to, we meet Tiger Shroff, who plays Khalid Rahmani, Kabir's protege, who comes with a baggage of a tainted father. So his past haunts him and to prove his worthiness, Khalid twists arms, kills terrorists and tries hard to please 'sir' Kabir.

The basic plot of a mission to hunt down the global enemy with shocking revelations bursting a lot many bubbles through the adrenaline-pumping course journey has been exploited on cinema way too many times.

Honestly, we have heard the story before but what's new this time is Hrithik vs Tiger face-off. And it is this aspect which the filmmaker has glorified to the best of his abilities.

There's style, aplomb and guns, keeping the boys busy.

Tiger Shroff is the new-age action hero and to see him opposite Hrithik is certainly a win-win thing for the viewers. Action director Andy R Armstrong from Hollywood and South Korea's Mr Oh have choreographed action chase brilliantly, giving new high to Indian fans.

YRF favourite Vaani Kapoor plays Naina, who has very little screen space to prove her acting mettle. We need to see more of her with meatier roles. 

A classic actor like Ashutosh Rana does best in whatever limited screen time he has. Supporting actors like Anupriya Goenka stand out in their performances.

The screenplay keeps playing with the viewer's mind with too many flashbacks and juggling between time zones. So much so, that at one point, you will give up!

Action, action and then too much of action can actually kill the fun. There a few action sequences like the one inside the aircraft and towards the climax which has been dragged to death.

If you are a Hrithik, Tiger fan and want to enjoy an action-packed spectacle of two good-looking men bruised and bleeding with guns and bullets giving them company, then 'War' is for you.

Also, the twists and turns can boggle your brain but no I am not giving away any of the spoilers here!

Be ready to witness some swashbuckling 'War' and whoever said, 'everything is fair in love and ...'

Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's new action thriller "War" has broken all box-office records on day one, collecting Rs 53.35 crore, and the two stars have expressed joy and thanked fans.

The first-day collection of "War", when it opened on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, makes it the biggest all-time holiday opener for a Hindi film, surpassing the day one collection of the Diwali 2018 release, "Thugs Of Hindostan". The Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer had earned Rs 52.25 crore on release last year.

"It is an incredible response to our hard work and I'm truly grateful to the audience for loving our film. When we decided to make 'War', we were clear that we were attempting to do something that has never been done in Indian cinema and we went all out to make it happen. So, it's hugely validating to see the fantastic response of the people enjoying our action entertainer in the theatres. As an actor, you live and thrive for such moments and I'm truly blessed that our film is getting such overwhelming love. I congratulate my partner in crime Tiger, my director Sid, YRF for its belief and the incredible effort to make this film spectacular, Vaani and everyone associated with this film at this incredible moment. Tiger on his part said that he feels blessed to be "getting this love and appreciation" from people.

"I'm touched by the fantastic response that our film has been getting from audiences across India. I have no words to describe what I'm feeling right now except that I feel blessed to be getting this love and appreciation from people. I have always wanted my films to be out and out entertainers, films that make people happy in theatres and I'm glad that 'War' has become that film," said Tiger.

"I feel blessed to have this opportunity to work side by side with Hrithik who has been my hero and idol. Just this opportunity is a victory in itself for me. I would like to thank and congratulate (producer) Aditya Chopra, Hrithik sir, my director Sid (Siddharth Anand), YRF for going all guns blazing to make this a spectacle, (the film's heroine) Vaani (Kapoor) and every single person associated with this film. This has truly been an incredible team effort," added Tiger, about working in the film directed by Siddharth Anand.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier tweeted: "'War' creates history... Sets new benchmarks for Hindi films... Big holiday (Gandhi Jayanti) plus unprecedented hype results in mind boggling day 1 total... Crosses the previous best - Thugs Of Hindostan (Rs. 52.25 crore) - by a margin, despite lower screen count."

This is Hrithik and Tiger's first outing together. Vaani Kapoor plays the female lead in the movie.

'War' is directed by produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by 'Salaam Namaste' fame filmmaker Siddharth Anand.
